What the box contains
- 30 booster packs in a single box
- 5 cards in every pack
- 150 cards in total, all with Japanese text
- Set code SM8, Sun & Moon era
This is a full Japanese booster box, so every pack comes from Super Burst Impact rather than a mixed assortment. That makes the box a sensible way to start working through the SM8 card list without hunting singles one at a time.
Thirty packs is a satisfying amount to open in one sitting, or to spread across a few evenings with friends.
Super Burst Impact or Explosive Impact?
Japanese set names are sometimes translated in more than one way. Super Burst Impact and Explosive Impact refer to the same SM8 release, so if you have seen either name on a checklist, this is the box you are looking for.
The SM in the code marks the Sun & Moon generation. Matching the code on the box is the simplest way to be sure you have the right set when you catalogue your collection.
If you keep a spreadsheet or a shelf label system, listing the box under both names saves confusion later when you compare notes with other collectors.
Who this Japanese box suits
The Sun & Moon period is still a favourite stretch of the hobby for many collectors, and a Super Burst Impact SM8 booster box suits several kinds of buyer:
- Binder collectors building a Japanese Sun & Moon collection
- Fans who enjoy opening a long run of packs from a single set
- Anyone adding a Japanese box from this era to a display shelf
Collectors who buy Super Burst Impact Booster Box stock for display often keep it sealed beside other Sun & Moon Japanese releases. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a collector who already owns a few Japanese displays from this era.
Good to know before you open
Set names, attacks and rules text on these cards are written in Japanese. Most collectors do not mind, because the artwork and card numbers make sorting easy even if you cannot read the text.
If you would rather read every card at the table, an English set may suit you better for play. For binders and display, the Japanese printing is part of the appeal.
Opening and sorting
Have penny sleeves and top loaders ready, open in small batches and sort by card number as you go. Keep doubles in a separate pile for trading, and sleeve anything special before you reach for the next pack.
Storing it sealed
If the box is staying unopened, keep it flat in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Nothing heavy on top, and no damp cupboards.
