Description
Ready to buy Ancient Roar SV4K Booster Box AU stock without ordering from overseas? This Japanese booster box holds 30 packs of 古代の咆哮 (Ancient Roar), the set that introduced the Ancient card type to the Pokémon Card Game. Every card inside is printed in Japanese, and TCG PokeVault lists the box in Australian dollars, so you know what you are paying before you reach the checkout.
Pokémon Ancient Roar SV4K was released in Japan on 27 October 2023 as one half of a pair. Its partner set is Future Flash (SV4M), and together the two Japanese sets became the English expansion Paradox Rift. Ancient Roar itself has 66 main-set cards and 95 cards in total, a compact list that rewards opening a full box rather than a handful of loose packs.
What’s inside the Japanese Ancient Roar booster box
- 30 Ancient Roar booster packs (set code SV4K)
- 5 cards in every pack
- 150 Japanese-language cards in total
Japanese boxes work differently from English ones. Instead of 36 larger packs, you get 30 five-card packs, which makes for a quicker opening session and a smaller box that sits neatly on a display shelf. Plenty of collectors enjoy that classic Japanese format for its own sake.

Ancient Roar chase cards
Roaring Moon is the star of this set. Its ex card appears as a Special Art Rare (SAR) at 090/066 and again as a gold Ultra Rare (UR) at 093/066, and those two pulls top most wish lists. Sandy Shocks ex SAR 089/066 is the other big Pokémon card to watch for.
Trainer fans have their own targets: Professor Sada’s Vitality SAR 091/066 and Mela SAR 092/066. Illustrated Trainer cards like these are a large part of why collectors open Ancient Roar booster packs instead of only buying singles.
The debut of Ancient cards
According to the official Pokémon Card Game site, Ancient Roar debuted the Ancient card type. The set also brought Ancient support such as Earth’s Vessel and Professor Sada’s Vitality, names that English players will recognise from Paradox Rift. If you like knowing where a mechanic started, this box is a neat slice of Pokémon TCG history.
Planning to play with your pulls? Japanese cards are ideal for collecting and for casual games at home. Check your event organiser’s rules before bringing Japanese-language cards to an English-language tournament.
Getting the most from your box
Set out penny sleeves and top loaders before the first pack, so an SAR or the gold Roaring Moon goes straight into protection. Sort the five cards from each pack as you go and keep the Trainer cards together. Collectors who prefer to keep a Japanese Ancient Roar booster box sealed should store it flat, out of direct sunlight and away from humidity.
Opening with a friend? Split the 30 packs evenly and trade duplicates afterwards. It is a fun way to share the experience, and a good reason to buy Ancient Roar SV4K Booster Box AU stock rather than a single pack or two.
