Sand Soldiers and the Equipment plan
In Riftbound, Riot Games’ card game drawn from the League of Legends universe, Azir gives you two linked tools. First, every Sand Soldier you control has WEAPONMASTER. Second, on a turn when you have already played an Equipment, you can pay 1 and exhaust Azir to put a 2 Might Sand Soldier unit token into your base.
The result is a Calm and Order deck that leans on Equipment: playing one opens the door to another soldier that turn, and every soldier you make carries WEAPONMASTER. The tokens appear at your base, from where they can head out towards the battlefields that score points when you conquer and hold them.
A token is a unit created by a card effect rather than drawn from your deck, so every Sand Soldier that Azir 247/221 produces is extra board presence on top of the cards in your hand. Pairing a steady stream of Equipment with Azir’s ability is how this Legend builds a wall of armed soldiers over the course of a game.
Who Azir 247/221 is for
Players who like building a board out of tokens, deck builders exploring Equipment-based strategies, and fans adding the Emperor to their champion collection. As a Showcase print from Spiritforged, Riftbound’s second set, this Azir Legend card also brings special art to any binder page.
Equipment fans should also look at Yone – Blademaster in his signature version, a Body Champion Unit with WEAPONMASTER of his own, while Irelia – Blade Dancer is another Spiritforged Showcase Legend that shares Azir’s Calm domain.
