About the Ascended Heroes expansion
Ascended Heroes launched on 30 January 2026 as part of the Mega Evolution series. It has 217 cards in the main set and 78 secret rares, for 295 cards in total.
Mega Dragonite ex leads the line-up. Trainer’s Pokémon and Stellar Tera Pokémon ex join returning and newly discovered Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, so the set celebrates favourites from across the Scarlet & Violet era.
Chase cards to look for
Mega Dragonite ex is the final card in the set, a Mega Hyper Rare at #295. Mega Charizard Y ex is the second Mega Hyper Rare at #294, and both are the big targets for anyone opening an Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box.
The set also debuts the Mega Attack Rare. Seven cards carry this new rarity, including Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex, with artwork built around each Pokémon’s biggest attack.
On top of that there are 22 special illustration rares and 33 illustration rares. Popular special illustration rares include Pikachu ex, Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex and N’s Zoroark ex.
The N’s Zekrom promo card
Every Ascended Heroes ETB includes a full-art foil N’s Zekrom, numbered MEP 031 in the Mega Evolution Black Star Promo series and illustrated by Bun Toujo.
N’s Zekrom also appears in the main set as a Rare (155/217), so the promo gives N fans a full-art version to display beside it. It pairs well with an N’s Zoroark ex pull if you are building an N collection. Sleeve it and put it in a top loader before you open the first pack.
This listing is the standard Elite Trainer Box. A Pokémon Center edition was released alongside it on 20 February 2026 with a version of the promo that carries the Pokémon Center logo.
Playing with the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box
Ascended Heroes counts 13 Mega ex, 6 Tera ex and 20 Pokémon ex. Mega Evolution Pokémon ex hit hard, but each one gives up 3 Prize cards when it is Knocked Out, so build your deck to protect them.
The 40 Energy cards, 65 sleeves, six damage-counter dice, coin-flip die and plastic coin cover a full game, and the player’s guide walks you through the expansion. Use the six dividers to keep Mega ex, Trainer cards, Energy and your best pulls apart.
Players who buy Ascended Heroes ETB stock as their first box of the set can be sleeved up and playing the same evening.
