Inside the Japanese 30th Celebration Booster Box
Here is what each sealed box and pack delivers:
- 20 booster packs per box
- 6 foil cards in every pack, randomly inserted
- 1 Pikachu card in every pack, drawn from 30 designs by 30 different illustrators
- 1 basic Energy card in every pack, in a special design by YOSHIROTTEN
Because every pack carries a Pikachu, a single Japanese 30th Celebration Booster Box hands you twenty of them. That makes it a fast route towards the full illustrator set, with plenty of foil pulls along the way.
About the 30th CELEBRATION M6a set
The set inside the Japanese 30th Celebration Booster Box carries the code M6a and was released in Japan on 16 September 2026, matching the global launch date. Its full Japanese name is ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA 拡張パック「30th CELEBRATION」.
Cards to chase
The biggest talking point is FUR, the new Futuristic Rare rarity. Mew ex and Mewtwo ex both appear as FUR cards with artwork by YOSHIROTTEN, and they sit at the top of most want lists.
The set also revisits 30 landmark cards from the game’s history in special versions, alongside legendary Pokémon such as Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia and Palkia.
Those 30 classic reprints are not legal in the current Standard format. They can still be played in formats where the original cards are allowed, and collectors chase them hard for binders.
The Pikachu hunt and box break tips
Have sleeves and top loaders ready before the first pack is opened. Every card in this set is foil, so you will want to protect the best pulls straight away.
Keep a checklist of the 30 Pikachu illustrators beside you. With a Pikachu in all twenty packs, one box takes you a long way towards completing that run.
Opening on stream or with friends? Work through the packs in order, keep the Energy cards together and put aside any FUR card, special version classic or Pikachu you have not seen before.
Japanese vs English 30th Celebration
English 30th Celebration packs hold five foil cards, a foil Basic Energy and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. They are sold inside products such as Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles and collections, and there is no standard English booster box.
The Japanese M6a set comes in classic booster boxes of 20 packs with six foil cards each. If the full-box experience is what you want, that is the reason to buy Japanese 30th Celebration Box stock rather than an English collection.
Prefer English product? Try the 30th Celebration Espeon ex Deck for a ready-made starting point.
