Scarlet ex box at a glance
- 30 booster packs per display
- 5 cards in each pack
- 150 cards across the box
- Set code SV1S, with every card in Japanese
A hundred and fifty cards is enough to get a proper feel for the set and to turn up doubles for trading. The packs are quick to open, so working through the full Japanese Scarlet ex booster box in one sitting is very manageable.
The start of Scarlet & Violet in Japan
Scarlet ex sits right at the beginning of the Japanese Scarlet & Violet series. It is the set that brought the new style of Pokémon ex into the era, and those cards give the opening packs a lot of personality.
That early position makes it a favourite with collectors who like to build a Japanese run in release order. Start here with a Japanese Scarlet ex booster box, then add later sets one box at a time.
Made for fans of Pokémon Scarlet
The set shares its name with Pokémon Scarlet on Nintendo Switch. If you spent hours with the Scarlet version of the game, opening its matching card set is a fun way to carry that adventure over to the table.
It also makes a thoughtful gift for a player who picked Scarlet over Violet and wants something from the card game to go with it. For that player, it is an easy decision to buy Scarlet ex SV1S Booster Box stock.
Scarlet ex, Violet ex or both?
The Japanese Violet ex box, coded SV1V, comes from the same starting point of the era. Some collectors take both so the opening of Scarlet & Violet is covered in Japanese from day one.
If you can only choose one, let the game decide. Anyone who played Scarlet will feel at home with this box, while Violet players may lean the other way.
Planning your opening
Solo sessions
Five-card packs are fast, so pause every few packs to look over the cards properly. Sleeve any Pokémon ex or other standout cards as they appear, then carry on.
Opening with friends
Thirty packs share out evenly between two, three, five or six people. Taking turns pack by pack keeps everyone involved, and swapping duplicates at the end helps each person build towards the set.
Open it now or keep it sealed
Plenty of buyers open every pack straight away. Others keep a Japanese Scarlet ex booster box unopened as a shelf piece that marks the start of the era.
Either way, treat the box gently. Store it away from direct sunlight and damp so the artwork stays bright, and keep it flat so the corners do not get crushed.
