What the box contains
- Title: Uma Musume Pretty Derby (Weiss Schwarz)
- Sixteen packs in each box
- Eight cards per pack
- 128 cards across the box
- Release date of 23 December 2022
Sixteen packs of eight cards gives you 128 cards to work with. That is enough to start sorting a deck, setting aside cards for trade and filling the first pages of a binder.
Eight cards, not nine
Several other Weiss Schwarz boxes use nine-card packs, but these hold eight. Keep that in mind when you compare card counts between titles, so you know exactly what to expect when you open the box.
Deck building with one title
Weiss Schwarz sorts its releases by title, and Neo-Standard decks draw on the cards of a single title. That makes the Uma Musume Pretty Derby Booster Box a natural starting point for anyone who wants to build a deck around this cast.
Open the packs, group the cards by type and colour, and you will soon see which ones suit the way you like to play. Working from a full box first means you only need to look for singles once you know exactly what is missing, so it makes sense to buy Uma Musume Booster Box stock before chasing individual cards.
Test before you commit
Build a rough list from your 128 cards and play a few practice games with a friend. Swap cards in and out after each game until the deck feels right, then sleeve the final version.
For binder collectors
If you prefer binders to battles, the Uma Musume Pretty Derby Booster Box is an easy way to gather the characters in card form. Give each favourite her own page, or arrange the cards by number for a tidy reference.
Opening all sixteen packs in one sitting also shows you quickly which cards you still need to finish a binder page or the complete set. Keep a checklist nearby and tick cards off as they appear.
Opening and storage tips
Have three piles ready before the first pack: one for deck candidates, one for favourite artwork and one for everything else. Sleeve the deck candidates, protect your favourite art in top loaders, and store the remaining cards in number order.
Do not throw away the packaging either. The empty box makes a neat home for the commons from this release, so they are easy to find the next time you adjust your deck.
Who will enjoy this box
Uma Musume Pretty Derby fans who want the cast in card form, Weiss Schwarz players looking to build a Neo-Standard deck from one title, and collectors working towards a full set will all get good use from it.
When you buy Uma Musume Booster Box stock as a gift, the recipient gets sixteen packs to open and a ready start on a collection.
