Why Hidden Fates Still Stands Out
Hidden Fates was released as a special set rather than a regular main-series expansion, and its Shiny Vault gave plenty of familiar Pokémon alternate-colour artwork. The shiny Charizard-GX is the card most fans link with the set, although every pack is a lucky dip and no particular card is promised. The promo, which puts all three Legendary Birds together on one card, matches the sleeves nicely if you like a themed display.
Open it now or keep it sealed?
Some collectors crack the packs straight away and put the sleeves, dice and Energy to work in a deck. Others keep their Hidden Fates Elite Trainer Box sealed on a shelf as a reminder of the Sun & Moon years. Either way, the sturdy outer box and its dividers make a handy home for your favourite cards. The included code card was issued for Pokémon TCG Online, the digital client of that period.
