Riftbound is the League of Legends trading card game from Riot Games, and each player opens with a Legend card representing their champion. With this Ezreal Explorer Card, Ezreal heads up a Mind and Chaos list.
How the Prodigal Explorer draw works
The Reaction
Its Reaction ability lets you exhaust Prodigal Explorer to draw a card.
The condition
To activate it, you must have chosen enemy gear, enemy units or a combination of both twice that turn through spells or unit abilities. Once that condition is met, the Legend refills your hand for the turns that follow.
Units and gear both count
Gear is one of Riftbound’s card types, alongside units, spells and battlefields. Choosing an opponent’s gear counts the same as choosing one of their units, which widens the range of effects that help you reach two targets.
Getting to two targets
Look for cheap spells and unit abilities that point at the other side of the board. Two small effects in one turn are enough to switch on the draw, so a hand full of low-cost interaction pairs well with this Legend.
Building a Mind and Chaos deck for Ezreal
Built around spells and abilities aimed at your opponent’s side, a Mind and Chaos deck is the natural home for the Ezreal Explorer Card. It pays off an active, interactive approach, since choosing enemy targets more often means drawing more often. Every extra card also gives you more options for hitting two targets again next turn.
Before settling on a Legend, compare two others. Mind is also a domain of the Origins Legend Viktor – Herald of the Arcane in its signature version, and Draven – Glorious Executioner is a further Spiritforged Showcase Legend whose domains include Chaos.
Planning your turns
Keep count of how many times you have chosen enemy units or gear as the turn goes on. Once you reach two, remember to use the Reaction so the draw does not slip by during a busy turn.
Collecting the 248/221 Showcase
Spiritforged has 221 cards in its main list, so number 248 sits among the set’s Showcase extras. The Showcase art gives Prodigal Explorer extra appeal in a display folder or a champion binder.
A tip for searching
Since the card is titled Prodigal Explorer instead of Ezreal, searching only for the champion’s name may not find it. Ezreal collectors should put the card title on their checklist so the Ezreal Explorer Card is not missed.
Display and care
Slide the card into a penny sleeve as soon as it arrives, then into a top loader or magnetic holder, depending on whether it is heading for storage or a shelf.
