Shimmering Skies box contents
This sealed display gives you the complete Set 5 booster line-up in one purchase:
- 24 Shimmering Skies booster packs
- 12 cards in every pack
- 1 foil and 2 cards of rare or higher per pack
- 3 uncommons and 6 commons per pack
- 288 cards across the whole box
Play stores received Set 5 on 9 August 2024, two weeks ahead of its general release on 23 August 2024. Whether you opened it on day one or you are catching up now, the Shimmering Skies booster box follows the same pack layout.
A party near the Great Illuminary
Earlier chapters of Lorcana dealt with floods and villainous schemes. Set 5 changes the mood with a celebration near the Great Illuminary, which gives the whole set a brighter, more festive tone.
That lighter setting is the stage for two groups of arrivals that help Shimmering Skies stand apart from the sets around it, and both are worth knowing about before you open your first pack.
What the brighter tone means for your binder
A festive set brings cheerful artwork that stands out on a binder page. If you display your Lorcana cards set by set, Shimmering Skies gives those pages a very different feel from the flood and villain storylines of earlier releases.
Wreck-It Ralph, Anna, Elsa and Olaf
Litwak’s Arcade comes to the Inklands
Ralph and his friends from Litwak’s Arcade bring the video game world of Wreck-It Ralph into Lorcana for the first time. If you grew up with the film, these are the cards that will catch your eye as you work through the packs.
Frozen favourites return
Anna, Elsa and Olaf are back after their journey into the Enchanted Forest. Frozen fans have good reason to check every card, because any of the 24 packs could hold one of the trio.
Sorting by film as you open makes it easy to see which Arcade and Arendelle cards you already have, and which ones to look for in trades.
Who the Shimmering Skies Booster Box suits
- Families who love Frozen
- Gamers with a soft spot for Ralph’s arcade world
- Illumineers collecting the sets in release order
- Two players who want to split a box
On your own, the 288 cards give you plenty to build a couple of two-ink decks. With a friend, the 24 packs divide into a fair 12 each, so you both get a proper go at the Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph cards.
A present for the whole household
Where Frozen is a family favourite, a full box makes a generous gift. Everyone gets a turn at opening, and there are enough cards left over for parents and kids to build decks and play together.
