Inside the case
A Japanese Pokémon GO case is laid out like this:
- 20 Japanese Pokémon GO booster boxes
- 400 packs in the case, with 20 in every box
- 6 cards per pack
- Japanese-language cards throughout
Each box is a tidy, self-contained unit. Open one, keep one, give one away; the case gives you the flexibility to do all three.
A Japanese Pokémon GO case also makes sense if you want one box kept sealed for display while the other nineteen are opened, traded or shared.
Two holo cards in every pack
What makes these packs different is how many holos they hold. You get two holo cards per pack; a basic Energy card always fills one of those spots, so each pack you open still carries a second holo slot.
Multiply that across 400 packs and you have a lot of foil to sort. Six-card packs take seconds to open, which keeps the reveals coming at a quick pace.
Players who buy Pokémon GO S10b Sealed Case stock for the holos often keep the foil Energy cards too, since a full set of shiny basics looks great in a deck box.
From the app to the binder
Pokémon GO players who also collect cards are the obvious audience. If you have spent years catching Pokémon on your phone, a case of cards built around the same game is a fun way to bring that hobby onto the table.
Community groups planning a themed opening night will find a case useful, as will collectors of Japanese product who want multiple boxes from one set. For breakers, a single Japanese Pokémon GO case supplies enough product for a long run of streams.
Bear in mind the cards are all in Japanese, which makes the case mainly a buy for collectors, not a way to source English cards for play.
Pacing four hundred packs
Four hundred packs is a marathon, so pick a pace you enjoy. Opening a box or two per session keeps things enjoyable and leaves the rest of the case sealed and protected until you are ready.
Sort each box before you start the next one. Separate the holos, set aside the foil Energy and file the rest by number. A running checklist shows which cards you still need and which spares you can trade.
Storage tips
A couple of long storage boxes for bulk cards will save a lot of clutter. Keep unopened boxes in the outer case, stored flat somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
