Irelia – Blade Dancer at a glance
- Name: Irelia – Blade Dancer
- Type: Legend
- Domains: Calm and Chaos
- Version: Showcase, card 246/221
- Set: Riftbound Spiritforged
As a Legend, the Irelia Showcase Card sits at the head of your list, and her two abilities set the tone for everything else you include.
How Blade Dancer readies your units
When you choose a friendly unit
Each time you choose a friendly unit, you have the option to pay 1 rune and exhaust Irelia, readying that unit. In effect, a unit you already used gets a second chance to act.
When you conquer
Scoring drives her second ability. Paying 1 when you conquer readies Irelia herself, setting her up to do it all again. Decks that conquer regularly can draw value from the Irelia Showcase Card many times over a single game.
Budgeting your runes
Each ready costs a rune, so plan around the turns where an extra action matters most rather than spending at every opportunity.
Choosing the right unit
The best target is a unit whose second action changes the outcome of a fight or a battlefield. Readying a unit that has nothing useful left to do simply spends the rune for no gain.
Building a Calm and Chaos deck around Irelia
Units that benefit from being chosen or readied are her natural partners, particularly hard hitters that make a second action count. Chaos brings a different pool of cards into the other half of the deck, giving you room to experiment.
With each ready costing a rune, additional rune sources are worth including. One option is the Seal of Discord Showcase, a Gear you can exhaust as a reaction to gain a Chaos rune, a good match for a Legend who keeps needing one.
Counting your rune sources
Before you settle the list, count how many ways you have to add runes. If Irelia will be asked to ready units several times a game, those sources decide how often she can actually do it.
Tuning for different formats
Splitting between Calm and Chaos gives you lots of scope to tune the list for 1v1, 2v2 or free-for-all games. For head-to-head play, test a build weighted towards hard hitters, and take notes as you refine it.
A high-numbered Spiritforged Showcase
Spiritforged counts 221 cards in its main run, so number 246 sits well beyond it, among the set’s high-numbered Showcase cards. That makes this Irelia Showcase Card a handsome centrepiece for a binder page of Spiritforged Showcase Legends.
Fellow Showcase Legend Azir – Emperor of the Sands shares her Calm domain, so the two sit naturally side by side in a collection.
Display and care
Keep the card in a penny sleeve and top loader, or a magnetic holder if it is going on a shelf, so the Showcase art stays sharp.
